Prayer of Dependence
Living expenses are mounting. Your paycheque doesn’t stretch as far. You’re very worried. This feels like the new normal—living anxious and on edge. Relief is available. It’s not rooted in circumstances. It comes from something that never changes. We’re on a journey through the Lord’s Prayer, a short but radical prayer that can change our lives. In this episode, we’re unpacking “Give us this day our daily bread.” What does this line mean for us today? Join us to find out!
Do you feel like you’re on the brink? On that razor’s edge between getting by and falling behind? Is anxiety a constant companion? Is your peace dependent on your circumstances?
It doesn’t have to be that way.
There’s another way. The Lord’s Prayer shows you how.
Jesus taught His followers to pray like this:
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
As we forgive our debtors.
And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
We’re moving through the Lord’s Prayer line by line. We’re discovering the profound truth it contains—truth that can change our lives.
In this episode, we look at “Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” What does this line mean for us today?
