Prayer of Forgiveness

We’re walking through the Lord’s Prayer, journeying line by line. In this episode, we pause on “Forgive our debts as we forgive our debtors.” What did Jesus mean when He said this? Forgiving someone who has wronged you can feel hard…even wrong. How can you forgive someone who isn’t sorry? How can you forget what was done to you?

Jesus taught powerful lessons about forgiveness in His Lord’s Prayer:

Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
As we forgive our debtors.
And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
